Produce professional prints and proofs of the highest quality with this versatile 24-inch photo printer and proofer.
The wide colour gamut and consistently smooth gradations make for better-than-lab-quality photos and proofs. And the high colour-match rate and superior print quality come from the 9-colour UltraChrome HD ink. This ink set offers a superior level of greyscale reproduction, thanks to three densities of black. Either a standard Photo or Matte Black (depending on the media) is used along with Light Black and Light Light Black to create true black and white images. In addition to improving the grey balance and eliminating colour casts, this combination of blacks creates a smoother tonal range with a natural look.
The SC-P6000′s exceptional speed and quality is down to inkjet technology that pushes the limits of photo-quality imaging. The PrecisionCore TFP printhead, optimised for Epson UltraChrome HD ink, features 360 micro-fine nozzles per colour, delivering incredibly sharp, grain-free images at ultra-high speed.
New Pigment Technology
All new pigments for an outstanding colour gamut, high black density and print permanence. New improved Resin Encapsulation Technology achieves superior gloss uniformity.
Advanced Black & White Printing Technology
When producing professional black & white prints, Epson’s unique screening algorithm and three-level black system (Black, Light Black and Light Light Black inks) optimises print quality. The special formulation of Epson HD inks virtually eliminates metamerism effects, keeping neutral tonality no matter what the lighting conditions.
Black pigments are 1.5 times denser than previous generation ink set – Significant improvements to overall contrast ratio and optical clarity.
The Epson PrecisionCore TFP printhead uses precise piezo-based technology. 10 colour channels with 360 nozzles per inch and a new ink-repellant surface coating for reduced nozzle clogging. The SC-P6000 is capable of printing up to 2,880 x 1,440 dpi with variable sized droplets as small as 3.5 picoliter. Black ink can be switched automatically between Photo Black and Matte Black modes. New user-scheduled printhead maintenance cycles can be set to occur periodically between 6 and 60 hours to improve printhead health over prolonged idle periods.
Built-in Automatic Rotary Media Cutter
The rotary media cutter can cut all photographic and fine art media types. The rotary design means that it remains sharp and has a significantly longer life than previous designs. Paper dust is minimised due to the blade remaining sharp and the cutter unit being housed separately from the carriage and printhead mechanism.
Accurate Roll Media Length Tracking
Keep track of remaining roll media by automatic printing and reading of bar codes on rolls. If there’s not enough media left to print the job the operator is automatically alerted.
More Powerful Controller Board
System On Chip (SOC) for faster processing and networking performance than previous generations.
The optional SpectroProofer unit adds automated colour calibration and proof verification abilities to your workflows. Developed jointly by Epson and X-Rite, the unit fits cleanly to the front of the printer and houses a spectrophotometer in an automated unit which includes a built-in print dryer to accelerate the dry-down and reading process. The integral X-Rite ILS30EP spectrophotometer supports M0, M1 and M2 measurement modes to meet all current and previous standards. The means, for example that you can produce and verify both FOGRA39 and FOGRA51 proofs accurately.
Internal Print Server Option
The SC-P6000 offers an optional internal 320GB print server. This is user-installable and can be quickly removed and stored for added security. Print data can be captured from multiple workstations simultaneously, freeing up resources. Jobs can be managed at the printer control panel, or remotely via a built-in web interface. New print options are; Print & Save – fast spooling with reprint functionality, Print Only – fast spooling without job storage, Save Only – holds jobs for printing at a later time and Print after Transmission Completed – perfect for wireless and slow connections
